OF ALL the words that can come before a person’s name, ‘Late’ is the most heartbreaking. It has a painful ring of finality. That word must now be attached to Park Yong-ha’s name.

The 33-year-old Korean actor and singer was found dead at his home in Seoul early yesterday. Yong-ha, who co-starred in the still immensely popular TV drama, Winter Sonata (2002), wanted to be remembered as more than just a Hallyu star.

“I want to be someone who can cover a lot of territory. Just my name. Is that too hard?” he had said in an interview two years ago.

Yong-ha had several hit albums and singles in Japan and had won the Japan Gold Disc Award for four consecutive years. He had returned last week from a successful concert tour of Japan.

We have to Say Goodbye; although like his hit song, 가지마세요, wish one could say Please do not go.

Rest in Peace Yong-ha Ssi. We will love you always.
