Time for Celebration

The bin of tangled up holiday lights beckoned to her from a corner of the loft. It had been lying there forgotten for god knows how long. Rita pulled it out, wiped the dust sitting smugly and lifted the lid; there was a coiled mess inside. Just like her relationship with Sujoy! Festivals were once a time of togetherness and celebration, but that was years ago. Now it was an alliance of plain indifference, aloof yet too knotted to break free. Maybe, she should give it another try?

Rita gave a wry smile as she shook out the chaotic mass and started putting it right.
